Afterburner - Light-Medium Roast

Afterburner is R2Bean2's strongest blend: maximum caffeine, without the cup suffering for it.

Built for people who need the hit and refuse to drink something rough to get it. A specialty-grade Arabica and Robusta blend, with the Robusta carrying the caffeine and the Arabica carrying the flavor. Neither one is doing the other's job.

Cacao and Brazil nut through a heavy, smooth body, malt underneath, and a brown sugar sweetness that lifts it clear of the flat, woody taste Robusta usually gets blamed for. Rich rather than harsh.

The Robusta is naturally processed and grown under agroforestry, planted among native trees rather than in cleared rows. The Arabica is high grown, fully washed and dried on raised beds. Two traditions, picked to do two different jobs.

Light-medium roasted, so the sweetness stays in instead of being burned off in the chase for strength.

R2Bean2 is veteran-owned, run by a former British Army Parachute Regiment soldier who also served with the Special Forces Support Group (now the Special Forces Strike Group).

Brew guide: for espresso, start with 18g of coffee for about 36g in the cup in 25 to 30 seconds. For drip, 2 tablespoons per 6 fl oz of water at 195 to 205°F.
